About the Book

Life, the decisions and challenges we face concerning work, recreation, money, relationships, and the future can become complex and overwhelming. But they don't have to be.

the elemental life uses the four ancient elements of earth, water, fire, and wind to take a fresh look at historic biblical Christianity. In the process, the elemental life offers a different way of looking at the world around you ... a way that provides clarity in the midst of chaos, speaks words of forgiveness when confronted by failure, makes the most of the struggles of life, and gives meaning to the mundane moments of your everyday experience.

It's not easy, but it is elemental. Find a friend and talk, challenge, encourage, and discover together. Get back to the elemental life.

Because the book was written to prompt discussion, it is combined with a website (http://theelementallife.com) that gives readers an opportunity to ask the author questions, review other questions and answers, and listen to a weekly podcast that expands on the ideas presented in the book.

About the Author

Pastor Joe is husband to Anita, father to Robbie, pastor of Genesis, leader of the fshbwl team (www.fshbwl.com), and is actively involved in the Capitol Hill neighborhood where he lives.

Joe and Anita met in January of 1998 as Joe began a Christian education internship at Vineyard of Faith Ministry in Windsor, CA. The two became friends and grew close while working together on various youth ministry events. They were married in June of 2001. In September of 2006, their son Robbie was born in Denver, Colorado.

Between the wedding and Robbie's birth, Joe and Anita spent three years in St. Louis, Missouri so Joe could attend Concordia Seminary. During his Seminary years, Joe's heart for church planting shifted from a suburban to an urban setting. He helped cast the vision for the restart of an urban congregation near the Saint Louis University Medical Campus and worked at Lutheran Hour Ministries where he developed the online community www.re-yourlife.com. Seminary concluded with an internship at Peace with Christ Lutheran Church in Aurora, CO, who then called him to plant Genesis. Joe was ordained on July 16, 2006.

Joe shares his thoughts on faith, family, ministry, and life at his personal blog, www.joeburnham.com.
